‘Top terror’ found dead in Faridpur

UNB, Faridpur :
The bullet-hit body of a local ‘top terror’ was recovered from a dam at Hathatbazar in Sadar upazila early Thursday.
The victim was identified as Nayeb Ali, a resident of Boithakhali village in the upazila.
Rajiur Rahman, a sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said local people spotted Nayeb’s body on the dam early in the morning and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital morgue for postmortem. Police said the body bore bullet marks on the left side of the head.
Officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station Mohsinul Haque said criminals might have shot Nayeb to death elsewhere and later dumped the body there.
Nayeb was convicted and sentenced to death in a murder case. He was also accused in a number of cases, including that of murder, robbery, extort ion and snatching, the OC added.
