Ashura observed with religious fervor in Port City

The Holy Ashura, a religious occasion of Muslim community s observed in the port city on Sunday with religious fervor commemorating the Karbala’s tragic incidents. The law enforcing agencies particularly police and rapid Action Battalion (RAB) tightened the security on the day.
The Muslims of the port city observed the day through different programs including bringing out Tazia processions. The processions were brought out from different spots in the city area on Thursday.
The Muslim community particularly Shia Community of Muslims brought out processions from Halishahar, Masterpool, Sadarghat, Imambagh and Jhautala bihari colony in the port city. Besides, many Muslim devotees fasted and distributed food among the destitutes.
Special prayers were offered in many mosques in the port city. Ashekan -e- Rasul, a religious organization organized rally at the Jamaiatul Falah mosque premises in observance of the day. Besides, discussion meetings on holy Ashura by several organizations of the port city and prayers also took place.
 Anjumane Rahmania Ahmadiya Sunnia Trust, Khankaye Qaderiya Syeda Tayiabiya, Alkoron Sonniya Madarasa, Chokbazar Maiz Bhandar Manzil and other religious bodies also organized rally in the city in observance of Ashura.
Sources in law enforcing agencies said, huge RAB and police were deployed at the mazar, mosques and other important religious places in the port city for maintaining law and order situation.
 CMP Commissioner Iqbal Bahar said police has taken special measures for maintaining the law and order situation on the holly Ashura in the port city like every year. “We have ensured tight security for the religious people to observe holy Ashura in the port city.”
