Dhaka Community Hospital (DCH) Trust team is providing medicare services to Rohingyas . The medical team is effectively working with local communities and authorities at Balukhali, Jamtoli, Tazimarkhola, Aingkhali, Jumer chara of Ukhia in Cox’sbazar district , says a press release.
Ruhingya people urgently need medical, food , nutrition and shelter support. Thousands of them could not manage makeshift camps yet, and are living under the open sky
While the previously built Rohingya camps have facilities for clean drinking water and latrines, the new ones do not. As a result, they are defecating in the open, facing risks of contracting diseases . Diarrhea cases were growing. Many are also suffering from fever, typhoid, cold, injuries , skin and other water related diseases. Many are also living with injuries, weaknesses and malnutrition. Many children with fever have started to contract pneumonia. Situation may turn epidemic if things did not improve.
Dhaka Community Hospital Trust team started response to Ukhia, Cox’s Bazaar since 12th September, 2017 to provide health care assistance to Rohingya camp in Ukhia. Ukhia is already over populated and lack of sanitation facilities is causing various diseases.
DCH Trust team has been providing services like treatment by doctors, health and hygiene education, free medicine service given to the people and distribution of water purification tablet.
