Undisputed leader
French Philosopher Voltaire said, “I may not agree with what you say, but I shall defend to the death your right to say.” We too support right to say, but not hatred, because hatred begets hatred.
Some of our friends argue that Bangabandhu Sheikh Mijibur Rahman preferred the post of the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan to the independence of Bangladesh, but I differ. I have strong arguments in my favour being placed hereunder.
Had Sheikh Mujib wanted to be the PM of Pakistan, it was easy for him. Surrender of the economic parts of his famous 6-points would have crowned him as PM of Pakistan. But he did not do that. He did not even do that for fear of death in custody. He rather remained firm like mountain.
The second point is that Sheikh Mujib was an active worker of Bengal Muslim League leader HS Suhrawardy’s United Bengal proposal launched in April 1947. In a press statement on April 27, He said, “Let us pause for a moment to consider what Bengal can be if it remains united. It will be a great country, indeed the richest and the most prosperous in India capable of giving to its people a high standard of living, where a great people will be able to rise to the fullest height of their stature, a land that will truly be plentiful. It will be rich in agriculture, rich in industry and commerce and in course of time it will be one of the powerful and progressive states of the world. If Bengal remains united this will be no dream, no fantasy “. The movement could not be successful due to Congress opposition. But Sheikh Mujib did not stop and planted the seeds in the hearts of the entire population of the country.
Our appeal to our friends, you may differ with us, but submit your arguments in a nice way and agree that Sheikh Mujibur Rahman is the Architect of the Nation, undisputed leader for guiding the nation to one point-independence.
