Winners of wall magazine competition awarded

Agami Education Foundation (AEF), a sister organization of Agami Inc., USA, organized an Award Giving ceremony for its first ever wall magazine competition participated by different AEF supported schools across the country on Saturday. The event was held at Daffodil University Auditorium, Dhanmondi in the city where the guest included teachers, students and representatives from Agami supported schools, AEF executive committee members, volunteers and donors.
The program was inaugurated with the welcome speech of AEF Director of Finance, Tazkera Khanom, followed by a presentation by AEF Executive Director Nafisa Khanam, on the importance of co-curricular activities and its benefits in the psychomotor and intellectual development of the students. She also highlighted the AEF opportunities to promote education for under underprivileged children and narrate the background, judgement process and other related procedures behind the successful completion of the entire contest.
After that, an open discussion held where guests have participated very spontaneously. Among others, Dilruba Chowdury, Vice-president of Agami Inc. USA, and Dr Zeba Islam Seraj, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Dhaka and Adviser at AEF spoke about the event and the importance of co-curricular activities.
A total of 80 students from 11 Agami supported schools participated in the competition, which was arranged to encourage students to join co-curricular activities more and for their potential development. The theme of the contest was “Pohela Baishakh 1424”. 32 of the students received the awards in different groups. Alok Shishu Shikhkhyaloy of Dhaka placed first respectively in group ‘A’ and ‘B’ where Mashila Secondary School of Jessore and Music for Development – Shurer Dhara of Dhaka have jointly secured first position in group ‘C’. besides, special prizes have been given to four schools. The wall magazine contest was initiated to create excellence amongst its students in not only their academics but also in their quality development in co-curricular activities. Finally the prize giving ceremony took place where award and certificated were handed over to all the winners.
The program was wrapped up with the concluding speech of Nafisa Khanam, Executive Director of AEF.
