Three activists of Chittagong University unit Chhatra Union including a female were assaulted allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League men yesterday while they were collecting funds for the flood victims in the city.
Mahabuba Jahan Rumi, a leader of CU unit Chhatra Union, alleged that a group of City College students introducing them as BCL activists intercepted them and dragged them in the campus when they were collecting money for the flood victims in front of the College around 1:30pm.
Later, they physical assaulted the organisation’s activists Shudipta Chakma, as he tried to resist them from taking away the fund box, she said, adding, they also hurled abusive words towards them.
However, Emran Hossain Emu, president of Chittagong city unit BCL, said no such incident took place.
Meanwhile, different organisations including RU Kendrio Sangskritik Jote and Photography Club at Rajshahi University are raising funds for flood victims of the country.
