French run-off :
The run off for presidency will decide on Sunday who – Macron or Le Pen – becomes the next French President amidst anti-Muslim hate-campaign in Western Europe.
The French Constitution is different from the US Constitution. In France, if none of the candidates polls more than 50 percent votes in the election, the run off i.e. second round will be needed. On the other hand, in the USA candidate securing fix minimum electoral votes, no matter who gets more popular votes, will be the winners.
And that is why Donald Trump won and Hillary lost in the US polls in 2016. There is no such room in France.
Ultra rightist Le Pen and centrist Macron will fight again. The surprise result was that the leftist candidate Fillion failed contrary to the political analysis.
According to the latest opinion, Macron led Le Pen by 61.7 percent to 38.3 pc on Thursday. The supporters of Fillion, Melenchon and Hamon, who lost in the first round, are expected to vote for Macron, a former economy minister.
France is fourth in military power and 10th in world economy. Its GDP is by PPP $2.647 trillion, by nominal $2.420 trillion, and per capita $ 41,181.
