Mahmudullah penalised for breaching code of conduct

National cricketer cum captain of Walton Central Zone Mahmudullah Riyad has been fined full of his match fee and also received a two-match suspension for breaching the BCB code of conduct.
Mahmudullah was found to be in breach of Article 2.3.3 of the BCB code of conduct during a 3rd round match of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) between Walton Central Zone and BCB North Zone at the BKSP ground-3.
The incident happened during 80th over of the Walton Central Zone first innings on day three of the match on Monday (May 5), said a BCB media release on Tuesday.
After completing his century Mahmudullah pointed to the franchise logo on his shirt and then made an obscene gesture with his bat towards the players in the dressing room.
The occurrence, which corresponds to a Level 3 offence (showing serious dissent), took place in full view of the spectators, cricketers, match officials and the media.
The on-field umpires Sharfuddowla Ibne Shahid and Anisur Rahman, and reserve umpire Akteruzzaman brought the charges.
At close of play on Monday, Mahmudullah admitted the offense and accepted the sanction proposed by Match Referee Shawkatur Rahman. As such, there was no need for a formal hearing.
