The 25th Chittagong International Trade Fair-2017 (CITF-2017)is going to be kicked off today with participation of Thailand as partner country likewise the previous year in the port city’s Railway Pologround.
The month-long trade fair would be inaugurated by Industries minister Amir Hossain Amu at the Pologround premises while Chittagong City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin and FBBCI’s Acting Vice-president Safiul Islam Mahiuddin is expected to be present here as special guests.
Aiming at the extension and betterment of country-made quality product and forming a bridge between the entrepreneurs, manufacturers and the buyers, the Chittagong Chamber and Commerce has been holding the fair with the participation of foreign and country enterprise.
Chairman of CITF Committee and Senior Vice President of CCCI Nurun Newaz Selim yesterday hold a press conference at Bangabandhu Hal at International World Trade Center where Chamber President and the Chief Advisor of CITF-17, Mahbube Alam among other co-chairman was present.
This year over 450 stalls including 16 premier gold pavilions, four mini mega pavilions, five premier pavilions, 10 standard pavilion, 172 premier mega both were set up till to date at the fair venue covering four lakh square feet areas.
Leading industrial enterprises from both home and abroad including Thailand, India, Iran and Mauritius are going to participate in the fair to showcase their products and make compare with each one country’s product.
The CCCI authority has been organizing the fair since 1993 and it got a wide range of publicity by the Bangladesh foreign missions in abroad, foreign missions in Bangladesh and different trade bodies and world famous trade-based websites.
Banking services including bKash facilities, fire service center and emergency medical center will also be set up inside the fair venue for the convenient of the participants and visitors.
Side by Side, stringent security measure would be taken to avert any unavoidable situation and for this RAB, police, and plain clothes police including other detective branches would be deployed and the authority put surveillance on the fair via 24 hour-CCTV cameras to avert any untoward situation.
On the other hand, a number of high profile personalities including envoys and high commissioners and investment delegations from foreign countries are scheduled to visit the fair for exploring trade and investment prospects.
The fair will remain open for public from 10 am to 10 pm everyday with entry ticket of Tk.10 each.
