Sheikh Kamal Int’l Club Cup Football begins today

The second edition of the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup Football is set to begin from Saturday (February 18) at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong with two matches are slated on the opening day.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal will inaugurate the 13-day meet as the chief guest.
On the first day matches group A fixture, FC Alga Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan will take on Pocheon Citizen Football Club of South Korea at 4 pm while defending champions Dhaka Abahani Limited meet TC Sports Club of the Maldives at 7 pm.
Private satellite channel Maasranga Television will telecast both the matches live.
Approved by FIFA and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the tournament named after Bangabandhu’s eldest son and eminent sports organizer martyred Sheikh Kamal. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) in association with Chittagong Abahani Limited is organizing the event.
A total of eight clubs including five foreign clubs will fight for the prestigious trophy of the tournament.
The participating teams are Shaheen Asmayee FC (Afghanistan), Manang Marshyangdi Club (Nepal), TC Sports Club (Maldives), Pocheon Citizen Football Club (South Korea), FC Alga Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dhaka Abahani Limited, Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and hosts Chittagong Abahani Limited.
