24th death anniv of journo Saiful Alam observed

The 24th death anniversary of the reputed journalist of Chittagong Saiful Alam was observed through a discussion meeting held at Chittagong Press Club Auditorium on Sunday.
 Saiful Alam Smriti Sangsad & Swadhin Sangbadpatra Patak Samity jointly organized the anniversary function duly presided by Journalist SM Jamaluddin . DC of Chittagong Md. Shamsul Arefin graced the occasion as chief guest. Chairman of Chittagong Journalists Cooperative Housing society Moinuddin Kaderi showkat, founder president of Chittgong unit Muktijudda Sangsad Alhaj Jahangir Chowdhury, former vice president of BFUJ Jahedul Karim Kochi, and former President of Ctg Tax Bar Association Md. Musa attended the program as special guests. Journalilst Nazimuddin conductedthe function as moderator. Moullana Nasirul Kabir read out the holy Quran at beginning of the anniversary program.
 Among others, journalist Md. Ayub Ali, Sirajul Karim Manik, daughter of the demise Shirinul Alam, social personality Shah Alam Siddiqui, noted banker Md. Selimuddin, Moktar Ahmed, Engr. Iftekhar Hossain, labour leader MA Sattar, lawyer Amir Hossain, Swapan sen, Samal Nath, Noor Md. Putu, Parivinul Alam, Md. Saifuddin, Sirajul Islam Chowdhury, Syed Abdul Hannan Babu, Kabi Sajal Das, Nooruddin Chy and Dr. Chandan Dutta spoke on the occasion. Special guest Moinuddin Quaderi Showkat in his brief deliberations said Saiful Alam was a conscious journalist and never comprise with the injustices . He played important role during the period of President of Chittgong Journalist Union.
The chair of the function Journalist SM Jamaluddin said late Saiful Alam was the journalist of golden age and there is rare journalists like him in the present age.
