Barisal Div face batting debacle

A fierce bowling display by Khulna Division bowlers saw Barisal Division suffered batting debacle as they cheaply dismissed their first innings at a 171 against Khulna Division in the tier 1 4th round match of four-day National Cricket League (NCL) that resumed from Tuesday after two-month break at BKSP ground in Savar.
Skipper Fazle Mahmud however offered some resistance with a fighting 95 runs knock of Barisal’s notable innings as the other Barisal batsmen failed to build any effective partnership to stretch the innings in the face of tight bowling display by the Khulna’s bowlers.
Ziaur Rahman and Ashikur Rahman were the pick of Khulna’s bowlers as they both shared three wickets each conceding 29 and 33 runs respectively.
In reply, Khulna Division started their first innings in the afternoon and scored 101 for the loss of one wicket. Mehedi Hasan with 55 and Anamul Haque with 8 on the crease as the stumps were drawn for the day.
Salman Hossain took the only wicket of Khulna.
