V-Day Squash begins today

The Energypac Victory Day Squash begins today at two separate venues – Navy squash court and Gulshan club squash court – in the city.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder MP is expected to inaugurate the six-day competition as the chief guest at 3 pm.
Sponsored by Energypac Engineering Limited by the initiative of Bangladesh Squash Racket Federation (BSRF), a total of 12 teams are taking part in the six-day meet.
The participating teams are Oshin Group, Chittagong Club, Officers Club, Uttara Club, Army red, Army blue, Gulshan Club, Dhaka Club, Naby white, Dhaka University, Army green and Olympic group.
The champions of the competition will receive Taka 50,000 while the runners-up will get Taka 30, 000 as prize money. The third place finishers will have Taka 20,000 as prize money.
Besides, the best player of the competition will get Taka 10,000 as prize money. In this regards a press conference was held on Saturday at conference room of National Sports Council to give all the details of the meet.
BSRF general secretary Jahangir Hamid Sohel, BSRF joint general secretary Arshad Hossain, sponsor Energypac Engineering Limited representative Jawad Mostafa Rashid and BSRF executive member Hdayet Ullah Turki were also present on the occasion.
