Zero tolerance for drugs: Putul

State Minister for Social Welfare Barrister Farzana Sharmin Putul has said drugs, corruption and unemployment are among the biggest problems in Bangladesh.

“The current government has started working to address these problems. The government has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs in particular,” she said.

She urged everyone to cooperate with the administration to build a drug-free society.

The state minister made the remarks while addressing a public meeting as the chief guest at Lalpur Sri Sundari Pilot High School grounds in Natore on Tuesday (September 1, 2026), marking the 48th founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). Harun Ar Rashid Pappu, former member secretary of the upazila BNP, presided over the meeting.

Among others, former joint convener of the upazila BNP Siddique Ali Mishtu, former organising secretary Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Lalpur Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Abdus Salam, Gopalpur Municipality BNP Convener Abdul Bari Babla and Joint Convener Sohel Rana spoke at the meeting.
