5 steel rerolling mills fined with Tk 15 lakh

Mobile court of RAB-7 in the port city fined five steel rerolling mills for manufacturing the MS rod unauthorisedly.
Executive Magistrate of RaB Md. Anisur Rahman led the mobile court duly cooperated by BSTI officials and RAB forces. RAB-7 senior Asstt. Director Md Sohel Mahmud told the media that mobile team conducted raid in Sitakunda shipbreaking area duly apprised by a secret information and detected five rerolling mills of their illegally manufacturing MS rod without having BSTI license.
The convicted rerolling mills are – Al Safa rerolling mills, Peninsula steel Mills Ltd, Brothers Industries Ltd, H steel Mills Ltd and Unic rerolling Mills. These rerolling mills are manufacturing ms rod with level of BSRM illegally , the mobile court traced. Mobile court magistrate fined Tk.3 lakh each mills for allegedly involved with the manufacturing of duplicate ms rod in other brand name, sources said.
