Bangamata Football: Sherpur emerge champions in Mymensingh

Sherpur Nowhata Govt Primary School emerged Mymensingh zone champions in the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Gold Cup Football Tournament beating Barhatta Bakhra Govt Primary School of Netrakona by 3-2 goals in a tie-breaker on Sunday.
The zonal final match between two teams was locked in a goalless position in the stipulated period and also in extra time at the Mymensingh Circuit House ground Sunday afternoon.
Prior to the final, Mayor of Mymensingh Pourashava Ikramul Haque Titu introduced to the players of both the teams. Later, Deputy Commissioner of Mymensingh M Khalilur Rahman was the chief guest at the day’s closing function and distributed the prizes.
Earlier, the Sherpur School team smartly reached the final of the meet eliminating former national champions Kalsindur Govt Primary School by 6-5 goals in the tie-breaker.
