The Walton Second Mirza Farid Memorial Umpires Hockey Tournament starts today at the Moulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation will organize the hockey meet with the financial assistance of Walton Group.
In this regard, a press conference was held at the conference room of Bangladesh Hockey Federation on Tuesday.
Senior Additional Director of Walton Group FM Iqbal Bin Anwar Dawn, Advisor of ATN Bangla Mir Md Motahar Hossain and Secretary of the Tournament Committee Kamrul Islam Kismot were present at the conference.
A number of six teams splitting into two groups will compete in the five-a-side hockey meet. Abdul Malek Chunnu Hockey Five, Sheikh Nurul Islam Hockey Five, Mir Saber Ali Hockey Five are in Group A while Sabbir Yousuf Hockey Five, Nannada Hockey Five, Nazim Uddin Molla Hockey Five are in Group B.
The champions will be awarded Tk sixteen thousand and a Walton Refrigerator while the runners-up will be given Tk eight thousand.
The tournament will come to an end on July 27.
