Arrest of secret killers demanded
A human chain was formed in front of Chittagong Press Club protesting secret killings in the country yesterday.

Terming the latest killings of the intellectuals, priest and other minority individuals countrywide as hateful and massive conspiracy against the communal harmony of the country, the speakers here demanded immediate arrest of the killers and put them on trial for execution.
Teachers, students and officials under the banner of Sonaton Dharma Parishod yesterday formed a human chain in front of Chittagong University Central Saheed Minar, protesting the countrywide minority killings.
Prof Dr Taposhi Gosh Roy presided over the protest rally where General Secretary of the organization Sajeeb Kumar Gosh conducted it.
They said, the assassination has been continuing in the country are pre-planned and following a master plan a group of miscreants committing such kind of heinous murders.
CU Cice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftekhar Uddin Chowdhury as chief gust said, ‘those who are committing the killings are the enemy of the country as well as the foe of the humanity and we all have to combat the evil forces for a free, liberal and communal harmony oriented country.’
Dr Iftekhar appealed the government to round up the criminals, to put them on trial soon and through trial the execution of the assassinator be ensured.
Among others, pro- VC Prof Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Arts faculty dean Dr Sekandar Chowdhury, Prof Benu Kumar Dey, Prof Dr Rashida Kanam, Dr Shamol Ranjon Chakrabarti, and Assistant Prof Dr Sumon Ganguli addressed here.
