The holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune was observed in the port city as elsewhere in the district on Sunday (May 22) night with due religious fervor and devotion.
The devotees spent the night at mosques, mazars and homes offering prayers, reciting from the holy Quran and seeking blessings to Allah for long life, peace, progress and happiness for themselves, families, relatives and friends as well as the nation and the Muslim Ummah.
The devout visited graves and praying for peace for the departed souls of their beloved ones. Many also visited mazars of saints all over the country.
The debvout muslims rushed at the mazars of Shah Amanat Shah(R) , Garibullah Shah (R) ,Baizid Bostami Darh, Miskin Shah(R) Maizbhandar Darbar sharif in Fatikchari, Mohsin Awlia Darbar in Anowara in the night of fortune and blessing from the Almighty Allah. Besides, special prayers arranged at Shahi Jame Mosque , Jamiatul Falah Mosque, Kadam Mobarak mosque and all mosques in different areas of the city . Gousia committees in the city also arranged for distribution of food stuffs to the d estitues on that fortune night. Meanwhile in separate messages on the eve of Shab-e-Barat, President and Prime Minister prayed for peace, progress and prosperity of the nation as well as the Muslim Ummah of whole world.
However, Muslims consider Shab-e-Barat as one of the most sacred nights and believe that on this night the Almighty Allah decides the fate of all human beings fixing their ‘rizq’ (livelihood) for the next year.
