NBR blamed for non-accountability of customs automation service

Chairman of National Board of Revenue(NBR) and Secretary of Internal Resources Division of the finance ministry Md. Golam Hossain criticized the concerned authorities for non-coordination and non-accountablity of the Customs automation system in Ctg. He was addressing a meeting as arranged for handing over Asacuda Technology device at Chittagong Customs House auditorium on Thursday as chief guest.
He said the automation technology was installed in Chittagong customs house at a cost of 60 million dollars with three dimension systems. He said positive results yet to be achieved if the proper utilization of the device is complied. He said there is no accountability of the high authority of govt regarding the device of automation but NBR wants full fledged coordination among all units of NBR. Following the demands of the Chittagong chamber of commerce, this Automation Device is introduced in Ctg customs house, CCCI chief disclosed in the meeting as special guest.
Now onwards, NBR will directly look after the automation device, NBR chief said.Chamber President said after introduction of automation system, the 43 steps of processing the import documents come down to 13 steps and it is our great achievement for the business community that Ctg customs and Ctg Port entered in the developed device of Asacuda World . Among others, Customs Commissioner Md. Masud Sadiq, NBR members Hossain Ahmed, Nasiruddin, Kalipada Haldar, Proprietor Data Soft Technology Md. Mahbubuzaman spoke on the occasion.Representatives of different trade bodies and port users forum were also present in it.
