APBn clinch title beating Ctg Range by 6 wkts
Armed Police Battalion (APBn) Cricket team clinched the Bangladesh Police T20 Cricket title for the 2nd time in a row beating Chittagong Range team by six wickets in the final at ABPn headquarters ground in Uttara on Thursday.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) AKM Shahidul Hoque was the chief guest in the day’s final and later he distributed champions and runners-up trophies. Wife of IGP Shamsunnahar Rahman was also present at the function as a special guest and distributed the other prizes.
Addressing the function, the IGP said talented players will be given priority as per rules during recruitment of policemen.
He urged the aspirant talented players, who want to join police, to send their application to the police headquarters.
Batting first in the day’s final, Chittagong Range team scored 126 for 6 and
APBn reached the target scoring the match-winner 127 for the loss of four wickets in 19 overs.
Babul Akhter of APBn scored 43 runs off 24 balls and was adjudged man of the final while Shahadat Hossain of Chittagong Range team scored 95 runs and grabbed seven wickets to be named the man of the series.
