40 lakh rural people get services from digital centres

Deputy Speaker of the Parliament (Jatiya Sangsad) Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah said at least 40-lakh rural people in the country are getting digitized services in short time and at minimum cost per month from digital centres.
He said this on Saturday while addressing a rally on the occasion of 5th founding anniversary of Digital Centre in Gaibandha.
Deputy Speaker said on November 11, 2010, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated country-wide digital centres through video conference from her office talking to administrator of UNDP and former Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clerk at Char Kukrimukri in Bhola district.
The life standard of rural people has taken a positive change after getting digitized services, he also said.
