Winter Tax Fair begins
Tax payers rushed in the first ever Winter Tax Fair began in the port city from Thursday.

The first ever 3-day long Winter Tax Fair begins in the port city from Thursday last at Govt office building premises at Agrabad in city .
The fair will remain open from 10 am to 5 pm every day. City Mayor AJM Nasiruddin inaugurated the fair on yesterday as chief guest. Police commissioner of chittagong Abdul Jalil Mondol , Additional Divisional Commissioner Sankar Ranjan Saha, Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong Mesbahuddin and the Member of NBR Md. Fariduddin graced the occasion as special guests.
Commissioner of Appellate Circle, Chittagong Kazi Emdadul Hoque presided over the inaugural session of the fair. On firstday 2,635 tax payers deposited return and 98 were given new TIN numbers. Sources said on opening day an amount of Tk.1 crore 12 lakh taka received from the tax payers as tax.
It is learnt from the Taxation circle of Chittagong that following the requests of the tax payeers , the first ever winter tax fair is being launched following the grand success of earlier tax fair held in Chittagong recently.
Tax circle sources said tax return will be accepted in each booth, issue of acknowledgement of tax return, new registration of e-TIN and re-registration of TIN of old tax payer will be done in the fair. For facilitating the tax payers, regional based tax booth will be installed and separate booths for FFs, senior citizens, women and disabled tax payers also installed, sources said.
