Woes of gas consumers mounting

The gas supply to domestic consumers decreased to maximum extents in the port city for the last one week. At the same time ,the gas supply to Sikalbaha power plant stopped lack of gas generation. Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company sources said 50 million cft gas supply suspended in last week .
Sources said 236m cft gas was supplied in last week against the average demand of 300 mcft.KGDCL General Manager Firoj Khan said due to less production of gas, the rationing system has been adopted and the situation will regain following the increase o f gas productions.
To tackle situation in domestic sector, the supply of gas to Shikalbaha plant remain suspended from Monday last. A housewife of Chowkbazar told this correspondent that after 8 am, gas supply suspended in service line and again restore at 1 pm for some times.
