237 arrested in special drives

Chittagong District Police arrested 237 people including 16 leaders and activists of
Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS) conducting special drives at different upazilas of the district on Sunday night.
The law enforcers also recovered 74 pieces of contraband Yaba tablets, 22 litres of liquor 250 grams ganjas during the night-long drives.
Mohammad Naimul Hasan, Additional Superintendent of Police (Special Branch) of Chittagong district police said that several teams of police conducted the drives in different upazilas of the district on Sunday night and rounded up 237 people.
The arrested include 10 Jamaat men, six ICS activists and 121 accused on different offenses cases, the additional SP added.
