Manzoor Quader nominated NCP candidate

Major (retd) Manzoor Quader has been nominated by National Citizen Party (NCP) for Sirajganj 5 (Belkuchi-Chowhali) constituency. His name was announced in the NCP first phase preliminary list around 11 am on Wednesday.
On this news, discussion is going on in his constituency. Supporters of Manzoor Quader have been sending greetings and congratulations on social media. According to a source in Manzoor Quader’s media cell, Major (Retd.) Manzoor Quader resigned from the post of National Executive Committee member of BNP on Tuesday. He received the Shapla Kali symbol. We hope that this former state minister will come to the election field soon.
Major (Retd.) Manzoor Quader was elected in 2001 from the erstwhile Sirajganj-6 (a part of Chauhali and Shahjadpur) seat as a candidate of BNP and was elected by a huge margin.
Besides, in 2008, former minister Abdul Latif lost by 252 votes to Biswas’ boat symbol from Sirajganj-5 (Belkuchi-Chowhali) constituency.
Former army officer Manzoor Quader was first elected Member of Parliament from Pabna-1 (Santhia-Bera) constituency in 1986. In 1988, he was elected Member of Parliament for the second consecutive time in the same seat and served as the Minister of State for Water Resources.
In 1996, he joined the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and on February 15, Pabna-He was elected as a Member of Parliament for the third time in 1 seat.
