He made this announcement following a meeting with a delegation of individuals who were injured in the protests, which took place on Thursday afternoon at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s conference room in the secretariat.
Sayedur said, “Dedicated beds will be reserved at government hospitals across the country for the treatment of those injured during the mass uprising. He also assured that if necessary, arrangements will be made for advanced medical treatment abroad to ensure the best possible care for the victims.
“Each of the injured individuals will be provided with a unique ID card, which will guarantee access to all benefits once issued. In terms of medical care, he assured that the injured will receive lifelong free treatment at all government institutions. Additionally, for those treated at private hospitals with which the government has agreements, the government will cover either the full or partial expenses.”
He further added that any personal expenses incurred by the injured so far will be reimbursed upon providing the relevant details. Those who have lost their eyesight will be provided with appropriate training based on their educational qualifications and abilities, with support extended to them and their families. Additionally, individuals who have become disabled will receive medical treatment.
The special assistant to the chief adviser mentioned that those suffering from mental trauma will be brought under the telemedicine network. Following this, psychotherapy will be provided to those in need at the eight divisional headquarters. Additionally, a support centre will be established after November 17 to receive all complains.
“Specialised medical services will be available in Dhaka. If necessary treatment is unavailable in the country and scientifically recommended, arrangements for treatment abroad will be ensured. All processes will be completed by December, with no delays or bureaucratic complications. Any negligence will not be tolerated. Fast-track services will be provided at all hospitals, and a written outline of these services will be provided within five working days,” he added.
