The decision on holding the rest of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will be taken on Wednesday.
The suspended HSC and equivalent examination were scheduled to resume from August 11, reports media.
“But whether the examinations will be held as per the schedule will be known tomorrow (Wednesday),” Prof Tapan Kumar Sarkar, chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, told UNB on Tuesday.
A number of examination centres were damaged and those need to be repaired and the authorities concerned are considering the overall situation, he said.
Additionally, the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee issued a circular on Tuesday requesting information about the confidential materials for HSC and equivalent examinations kept in treasuries or police stations. Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar sent an urgent letter to the education boards of the country, requesting a detailed report on the status of the confidential materials.
The letter asked whether these materials were intact and, if not, for a full report detailing the extent of the damage.
According to the examination schedule of the General Education Board, on August 11, exams for Geography (Theory) Second Paper, High Music (Theory) Second Paper, Arabic Second Paper, and Pali Second Paper are scheduled to be held in the afternoon. Besides, there is an exam scheduled for August 12.
