NN Online:
Chief Prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Muhammad Tajul Islam, announced today that the preparation of the probe report in a crimes against humanity case involving ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and others is nearing completion.

“The probe report is almost ready and is expected to be filed within a week or two,” Tajul stated while requesting an additional two months to finalize the report.

Granting the request, Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, Chairman of the ICT’s three-member panel, set June 24 as the new deadline for submitting the report.

Among the accused present in the courtroom was former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun. Prosecutors Gazi MH Tamim, Shaikh Mahadi, and Abdullah Al Noman also attended the hearing.

Previously, the prosecution cited the need for extra time to incorporate findings from a recent United Nations (UN) report. They are utilizing data from the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), which released a fact-finding report on the July-August mass uprising.
