The traditional President’s Parade was held at the Bangladesh Naval Academy on Sunday, marking the completion of rigorous training for the Midshipman 2023 batch.
Navy Chief Admiral M Nazmul Hasan attended as chief guest, reviewing the impressive parade and receiving salutes, says an ISPR press release. A total of 31 midshipmen, including 2 women, were commissioned as Sub-Lieutenants after three years of military training. Outstanding trainees received medals, with Midshipman Syed Tahsin Ahmed awarded the Sword of Honor as the best all-round cadet, and Midshipman S M Abrar Obaid receiving the Navy Chief’s Gold Medal for second highest achievement. The event included a formal oath-taking ceremony pledging dedication to national sovereignty. Naval Aviation showcased a special flypast featuring maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters.
In his speech, the Navy Chief honored freedom fighters and commandos from the Liberation War and highlighted the navy’s ongoing modernisation through technology-based training.
