Bangladesh etched a landmark chapter in its sporting history as four men’s doubles pairs advanced to the quarter-finals of the tournament, marking an unprecedented achievement for the country at this level of competition.

Riaydul Islam and Tanoy Saha set the tone with a gritty performance, overcoming Iran’s Mehdi Ansari and Amin Hossain in a closely contested match. The Bangladeshi pair bounced back after dropping the opening game to secure a 17-21, 21-14, 21-19 victory and book their place in the last eight.

In an all-Bangladesh encounter, Tanvir and Gaurab Singh emerged victorious against compatriots Aqib Sulaiman and Shubho Khandaker. After a tense opening game, Tanvir and Gaurab maintained their composure to win 24-22, 21-16, sealing a quarter-final berth.

Another impressive display came from Naim and Mizan, who fought back strongly against Vietnam’s Dongkhe Dongkha and Tran Hong Kha. After conceding the first game, the Bangladeshi duo showed resilience and tactical discipline to claim the match 22-24, 21-14, and 21-18, advancing to the quarter-finals.

Completing the historic feat, Al Amin Jumar and Moazzem Hossain Ohidul delivered a commanding performance against Iran’s Amir Hossein Azmalo and Saeid Armin Zaki. The pair dominated throughout, registering a convincing 21-11, 21-9 straight-games win to secure their place among the final eight.
