Baraka Power Limited, one of Bangladesh’s power generation companies established with the initiative of expatriate Bangladeshis, held its 18th Annual General Meeting (AGM) Wednesday at Hotel in Sylhet in a hybrid format, combining both physical and virtual participation.
The meeting, conducted by Company Secretary Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury, began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. Shareholders and Board members were welcomed before the formal proceedings commenced.
In his opening remarks, Chairman Faisal Ahmed Chowdhury thanked shareholders for their continued support throughout the company’s journey. He expressed optimism regarding the renewal and future growth of Baraka Power Limited and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to safeguarding shareholder interests.
During the AGM, Managing Director Fahim Ahmed Chowdhury reported that the company achieved a consolidated profit of TK 8.46 crore for the financial year 2024-2025, with Earnings Per Share (EPS) of TK 0.36. He explained the rationale for declaring a zero dividend for the year and addressed questions raised by shareholders regarding the company’s performance and future plans.
All proposals, including the declaration of zero dividend, were unanimously approved by the shareholders during the meeting.
The AGM highlighted Baraka Power Limited’s ongoing commitment to transparency, shareholder engagement, and sustainable growth in Bangladesh’s power generation sector.
