Army win over Police in BWFL

Bangladesh Army registered a 2-0 win over Bangladesh Police in the inaugural match of the Bangladesh Women’s Football League (BWFL) at the Bir Shreshtha Shaheed Shipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the capital’s Kamalapur on Monday. The match was held under the flood light.
Army led the first half 1-0.
Tannima Biswas of Bangladesh Army put her team ahead by a spectacular 35-yarder just in the 40th minute of the play.
After the interval, Tannima doubled the margin by an angular shot using a through pass of her teammate Sultana in the 70th minute of the game. Police got their first opportunity in the 56th minute of the match. Sabina’s shot went into the goalbar of Army but defender Ruma Akter of Army cleared the ball just in front of the goalline.
After a season, Bangladesh Football Federation has arranged the Bangladesh Women’s Football League. A total of 11 teams including Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Ansar & VDP, BKSP are taking part in the Bangladesh Women’s Football League. The champions will be awarded a trophy and a cash of Taka four lakh.
Bangladesh Police have star players like Sanjida Akter, Irin Khatun, Sagorika, while Bangladesh Army consists of young footballers including nine booters who came from the age group teams.
