NBR extends February VAT return deadline to March 29

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the deadline for submitting online value-added tax (VAT) returns for the February 2026 tax period from March 15 to March 29.

The extension was granted in view of the long stretch of government holidays during the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr and Independence Day, as well as the relatively slow performance of the government’s electronic VAT filing platform, NBR said in a notification on Sunday.

The revenue authority said the decision was taken in the public interest.
Usually, businesses are required to submit their monthly VAT returns by the 15th of the following month.

The extension will allow taxpayers additional time to submit their returns for the February tax period.
