Athoi files complaint against Tanjin Tisha to Actors’ Equity
Entertainment Report :
TV actress Samia Athoi has filed a complaint of assault against Tanjin Tisha in the TV actors’ organisation, Actors’ Equity Bangladesh. Athoi filed the written complaint on Thursday evening. She confirmed the matter yesterday.
Rashed Mamun, General Secretary of the Actors’ Equity, said that they will discuss the issue in the executive council this week.
The issue will be resolved by talking to both parties.
On Tuesday at 4:30pm, actress Samia Athoi went on Facebook Live and complained that Tanjin Tisha slapped her during the shooting of a drama titled ‘Putuler Biye’ in Manikganj.
Samia Athoi said in the live broadcast, “She (Tisha) hit me in the middle of the scene, made my cheeks swell. My eyes are swollen.”
However, Tanjin Tisha claimed that she slapped her for character reasons. Since then, there has been a storm of debate on social media regarding the slap incident.
Athoi claimed that according to the script, she was supposed to slap Tisha once in the scene, and she slapped her just like that.
Then Tisha slapped her multiple times. Tisha was not supposed to slap her in the script.
However, Tisha claimed that she did not do anything out of character. She said, “I played my character completely; here I played the role of a special child. I did as much
as was in the script. I did nothing out of character.”
The Actors’ Equity BD issued a statement on Thursday regarding Samia Athoi’s Facebook Live.
The organisation wrote, “If any kind of complication or disagreement arises with any member, it is against the code of conduct of the Actors’ Equity to publicise it on social media or the media without informing the concerned organisation.”
