BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT), through its Career Development Club, successfully organised the BUFT National Career Fest 2026 on Wednesday at its permanent campus.
The two-day event was presented by BGMEA, KDS, and Prime Bank, powered by Centro, Fashion Step Group, Fakir Fashion, Shin Shin Group, FPG, and Masco Group, and co-powered by Auko-Tex Group, RH Corporation, and Asian Apparels Limited, says a press release.
The fest aimed to bridge the gap between academia and industry by creating a direct platform for interaction between employers and job seekers.
Over 300 organizations took part in the event, drawing more than 10,000 job seekers and approximately 40,000 visitors. Participants had the opportunity to engage in direct recruitment, attend on-the-spot interviews, and take part in a series of workshops, seminars, and panel discussions focusing on career development and industry readiness.
The guests emphasised the importance of English language proficiency, leadership skills, and adaptability in today’s competitive global job market.
They noted that academic degrees alone are insufficient for long-term success and highlighted the need for strong communication skills to assume leadership roles in professional life.
