ICC Women's T20 WCQ Warm-up Match: Bangladesh beat Netherlands

Bangladesh Women’s National Cricket Team, now in Nepal to play ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier (WCQ) Warm-up Match, before entering the main stage of the World Cup qualifiers.
Bangladesh Women’s team defeated the Dutch by 26 runs in Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground, Kirtipur, Nepal on Wednesday. Batting first, Joty’s team scored 151 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. In reply, the Netherlands Women’s innings was restricted to 125 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Tigresses achieved a great victory against the Netherlands women’s team.
Bangladesh, who batted first, lost Dilara Akhter Dola in the first over. She scored 6 runs off 6 balls. In the fourth over, Juairiya Ferdous, who was called up to the squad for the first time, scored 2 runs off 5 balls.
Joty and Sobhana, who lost 2 wickets for 12 runs, took charge of the team. The duo’s partnership contributed 139 runs to Bangladesh’s scoreboard in 101 balls. Sobhana scored 59 runs in 58 balls with 4 fours and 1 six, was run out on the last ball of the innings. In the end, Joty remained unbeaten and scored 75 runs off just 51 balls with 9 fours and 1 six.
Chasing a target of 152, Bangladesh leg-spinner Rabeya Khan was unable to hold his own against the Netherlands batsmen. She took 3 wickets for just 17 runs in 4 overs. Besides, pace bowling all-rounder Ritu Moni took 2 wickets. Nahida Akhtar and Fahima Khatun took 1 wicket each.
Stylist Kallis scored the highest score of 31 runs for the Dutch.
Bangladesh will play one more warm-up match before the main phase begins. Their opponent will be Thailand in the second match tomorrow. After that, Joty’s team will start their World Cup qualifier mission on January 18 with a match against the United States.
