Dhaka Bank names new Managing Director and CEO

Dhaka Bank PLC has welcomed Osman Ershad Faiz as its managing director and chief executive officer, effective from Sunday.

Osman Ershad Faiz brings more than three decades of international banking experience, having held senior leadership roles across global financial institutions.

His expertise spans banking strategy, technology, operations, digital transformation, core banking platforms and financial technology, positioning him to lead the bank in an increasingly complex financial landscape.

Before joining Dhaka Bank, Faiz served as additional managing director and chief operating officer of Eastern Bank PLC, a role he assumed in January 2025.

Prior to that, he was the co-founder of Asia FiiT, an international banking and fintech advisory firm headquartered in Singapore.

His previous global roles include chief information and operating officer of AMTD Digital, managing director and chief operating officer of Standard Chartered Bank Singapore, and managing director and chief information officer for wholesale banking in the eastern hemisphere at Standard Chartered Bank. He also served for five years as a director of the Singapore Clearing House Association.

Widely recognized for his leadership in technology and commitment to inclusive workplaces, Faiz received the “Legend” Award at the World CIO 200 Summit 2023.
