A new executive committee of the Online Editors Alliance (OEA), an organisation of heads of online and digital departments of leading media outlets in the country, was formed for the 2026 term during its annual general meeting (AGM) on Saturday. The AGM was held at Waterfall Restaurant and Convention Centre in Banglamotor in Dhaka, according to a press release.

Hasan Sharif of Daily Jugantor received responsibility again as president, and Mizanur Rahman Sohel of Daily Bhorer Kagoj as general secretary. Vice-presidents of the new committee included Lutfor Rahman Himel of Bartajog, KM Ziaul Haque of JagoNews24.com, and MAHM Kabir Ahmed of RTV. Kamrul Islam Rubel of DBC and Anisur Rahman Bulbul of Daily Kalerkantho became joint general secretaries.

Palash Mahmud of Asia Post was appointed organising secretary, and SA Rahman Galib of Daily Inqilab as assistant organising secretary. Moin Bakul of Star News was selected as finance secretary, and Masud Bin Abdur Razzak of Dipti TV as office secretary. Executive members included Shiabur Rahman Shihab of Financial Express, Rawshan Jamil of Amar Desh, and Mansura Chameli of Barta24.com.

Earlier, the AGM was chaired by President Hasan Sharif. Finance secretary Moin Bakul presented the financial report for 2025, and general secretary Mizanur Rahman Sohel presented the annual activity report. Both reports were approved unanimously after discussion.

During the discussion session, UNB editor Mahfuzur Rahman spoke. He said the Online Editors Alliance would play an effective role in the development of online media, policy formulation, and improvement of digital journalism in the country.
