Japa’s Raushon, Anisul unite sans Quader

Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud has been elected chairman of the Jatiya Party, while ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader the new general secretary.
In addition, Kazi Firoz Rashid was elected senior co-chairman, and Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu became executive chairman.
The party election took place on Saturday during its 10th national council, held at the Emmanuel Community Center in Gulshan, Dhaka.
Around 3,000 councillors from across the country took part in the election.
The day’s proceedings began in the morning with the national and party anthems, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Anisul Islam Mahmud and the party flag by Mujibul Haque Chunnu.
The inaugural session was presided over by Anisul Islam Mahmud, with Jatiya Party(JP Manju) Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju attending as chief guest. Ruhul Amin Howlader delivered the welcome address, while Mujibul Haque Chunnu presented the organisational report.
Speakers at the opening session included Kazi Firoz Rashid, Syed Abu Hossain Babla, Shahidur Rahman Tepa, ATU Taj Rahman, Solaiman Alam Seth, Nasrin Jahan Ratna, Najma Akhtar, Liakat Hossain Khoka, Mostafa Al Mahmud, Masrur Mowla, Jasim Uddin Bhuiyan, Arifur Rahman, Nurul Islam Milon, Ziaul Haque Mridha, and Khan Israfil Khokon.
Messages of solidarity were also conveyed by Jatiya Party-JP General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Jatiya Party (Kazi Zafar) Presidium Member Didarul Alam Didar, and Bangladesh Jatiya Party (Matin) General Secretary Jafar Ahmed Joy.
During the second session, the three-member election commission led by convener Md Zahirul Islam Zahir and members Mostafa Al Mahmud and Arifur Rahman Khan formally announced the election results, confirming Anisul Islam Mahmud as chairman and Ruhul Amin Howlader as general secretary.
