Despite left-arm spinner Taijul Islam bagged five wickets for 198 runs Bangladesh will face daunting task as South Africa declared their first innings making 575 for the loss of six wickets on the Day 2 play of the second Test cricket match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday.
Bangladesh were at the stumps at 38 for the loss of four wickets.
The Tigers trailed by 537 runs.

One-down Zakir Hasan (2) was caught behind by Verreynne off Rabada when Bangladesh’s score was 21 for the loss of two wickets. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy (10) was caught at the second slip by Aiden Markram off Dane Paterson when the home side’s total was 29 for the loss of three wickets.
Third-down Hasan Mahmud (3) was bowled out by Keshav Maharaj when Bangladesh’s score was 32 for the loss of four wickets.
Mominul Haque was on 6, while Najmul Hossain Shanto was on 4 before the bails were drawn for the second day. Rabada bagged two wickets at the cost eight runs, while Maharaj and Peterson took one wicket each for four and 15 runs respectively.
South Africa resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 307 for the loss of two wickets.
Tony de Zorzi and David Bedingham resumed their first innings with the over-night score of 141 and 18 runs respectively. They added 79 runs in the third wicket stand on the second day before Bedingham (59) was bowled out by left-arm spinner Taijul Islam when the Proteas’ total was 386 for the loss of three wickets.
