Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan took part at the practice session on Wednesday at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore of Pakistan.
Shakib Al Hasan joined Bangladesh National Cricket squad in Lahore from Canada. His other teammates also participated at the practice session there. Shakib Al Hasan was elected as an Member of Parliament from Magura-1 Constituency recently. But as prime minister Sheikh Hasina fled from the country after the students’ and peoples’ revolution on August 5, fate of Shakib Al Hasan was also became uncertain.
However, Shakib was included in the Bangladesh National Cricket squad by the Chief Selector of the controversial Bangladesh Cricket Board. Shakib Al Hasan will take part in the two-match Test series against Pakistan National Cricket team.
The first Test cricket match between Bangladesh National Cricket team and Pakistan National Cricket team will be held at Rawalpindi from August 21 to August 25. The second Test cricket match will take place at Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
Bangladesh National Cricket squad took part their practice session in Lahore under supervision of Head Coach of Bangladesh National Cricket squad Chandika Hathurusingha.
Earlier, the Chief Selector of the BCB Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu announced the 16-member Test squad on Sunday last.
Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam left the city on Wednesday for Lahore to join the Bangladesh National Cricket squad.
Shakib Al Hasan, the 37-year-old all-rounder scored 4505 runs playing 67 Test matches. His highest score is 217 runs with an average of 38.84. He hit five centuries and 31 half-centuries.
Shakib captured 237 wickets with a best bowling figure of 10/124. He claimed five wickets for 19 times, while 10 wickets for two times.
