19 films to receive government grants

For the budget year of 2021-2022, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry announced the list of films receiving grants on June 15. A total of nineteen feature films have been deemed eligible for the government grants this year, said a press release.
As per a gazette notification issued by the ministry, the selected films will bag a total of Tk12.15 crore under two categories — Liberation War and General. Last year, Liberation War, general, and children’s films were the three categories in which the grants were allocated.
Khorshedul Alam Khandaker’s Joy Banglar Dhoni and Rafiqul Anwar Russel’s Ekattor-Korotole Chinnomatha are set to receive Tk60,00,000 each in the category of Liberation War. Amitabh Reza Chowdhury’s upcoming film 1969 will receive Tk75,00,000 whereas Masud Hassan Ujjal’s Bonolota Sen, Marufa Akhter Popy’s Bangabandhur Renu, Ali Hayder Ujjal’s Eito Jibon and Masud Mohiuddin and Mahmud Hassan Shikder’s Bokul Kotha will receive Tk70,00,000 respectively. Rifat Mustafa’s Juddhajibon, Bandhan Biswas’s Laal Saree, Sharaf Ahmed Jibon’s Bicharaloy and Himel Ashraf’s Maya will receive Tk65,00,000. Reza Ghatak’s Story of Dodo, Habibul Islam Habib’s Japito Jibon, Kamal Mohammad Kibria’s Arji, Chhaktu Ahmed’s Ahare Jibon, Ratan Kumar Paul’s Antorkhola, Sarwar Tamizuddin Ahmed’s Bhashar Jonno Momtaz and Syed Masud Zakaria Chowdhury and Abdus Samad Khokon’s Muktir Chhoto Golpo will receive Tk60,00,000 each.
