Two hundred and sixty-three dengue patients were hospitalised with dengue fever in 24 hours till Thursday morning.
Of the new patients, 164 were hospitalised in Dhaka city, while the rest were outside the capital, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Some 484 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.
A total of 5,250 dengue cases and 50 deaths have been reported since January 1, 2024.
Last year, a total of 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
Dengue (break-bone fever) is a viral infection that spreads from mosquitoes to people.
It is more common in tropical and subtropical climates. Most people who get dengue will not have symptoms. But for those who do, the most common symptoms are high fever, headache, body aches, nausea, and rash. Most people who get dengue won’t have symptoms.
