10 members of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) were awarded the President Police Medal ( PPM) and IG badge, state recognition for their courageous, exemplary and commendable work. Out of these, one was awarded the President Police Medal (PPM) and 9 were awarded the “Police Force Exemplary Good Service Badge-2024” (IG Badge) in recognition of their exemplary and commendable works.
The President’s Police Medal (PPM) was awarded to Sonadanga Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shafiqul Islam and the badge was awarded to KMP Assistant Police Commissioner (Sonadanga Zone) Md. Azam Khan, Harintana Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sheikh Khairul Bashar, Khanjahan Ali Police Station SI Biplob Kanti Das, SI (CTSB) Md. Jahangir Sardar, Sonadanga Model Police Station SI Ashraful Alam, SI Sumon Mondal, Sonadanga Model Police Station ASI Bipin Chand Adhikari-PPM, Constable Somnath Halder and Constable Md. Faiz Shahi, etc.
On Monday night,( April 28) Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (ADC, Media and CP) of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Mohammad Ahsan Habib ascertained the above information.
KMP informed that any recognition increases enthusiasm for work. In recognition of heroic and service work at work, the Bangladesh government awards medals in various categories for exemplary and commendable work and courageous contributions during the Police Week held every year. Similarly, the IG badge is awarded by the Inspector General of Police of Bangladesh Police. This year, 1 KMP officer was awarded the President Police Medal (PPM) in recognition of courageous work and 9 officers were awarded the “Police Force Exemplary Good Service Badge-2024” (IG Badge) in recognition of exemplary and commendable work.
Their achievement has not only inspired them, but also brought honor to Khulna Metropolitan Police. With the cooperation of people from different classes and professions of the city, the achievement of Khulna Metropolitan Police this time is enviable compared to other units of Bangladesh Police. In the coming days, Khulna Metropolitan Police will continue to work in the service of the city residents to make Khulna a drug and terrorism-free ideal city by always being proactive in curbing crime.
