Several hundred bidi workers and leaders have placed six-point demands, including withdrawn of extra tax and advanced income tax on bidi to run the trading and production smoothly.
They arranged a press briefing to inform their demands to the journalists at National Press Club in the capital on Tuesday.
Bangladesh Bidi Sramik Federation President M K Bangali placed the demands in a written speech to the journalists.
Several lakh employees, including widow, paralyzed and illiterate men, will be lost their jobs if the present tax and advanced income tax from the current fiscal year to be continue, the bidi leader claimed.
