Khulna Sadar Police Station has been accused of mysteriously releasing Khulna Zilla Parishad’s low-level assistant cum computer operator MD Aslam Hossain, who is known as an accomplice in the corruption of former Khulna Zilla Parishad chairman Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, and a warranted accused. The incident has created a huge sensation in the city. Finally, the accused was arrested again after conducting a drive and handed over to the court for trial.
It is learned that on Wednesday , Khulna Sadar Police Station arrested MD Aslam Hossain from in front of the KCC Market of Khulna City Corporation. He is a warranted accused in Khulna Sadar Police Station’s Non-FIR Prosecution Case No. 356/25 (dated 8/12/25), Section 506 of the Penal Code.
Local sources and eyewitnesses said that Aslam Hossain was taken to the police station some time after the arrest and released after some time. As soon as the matter became known, various questions arose about the role of the police. In particular, allegations of money laundering have spread in the case of releasing a suspect with a warrant after arrest without handing him over to the court.
