Police have recovered the body of a 2-years -old child from a wardrobe in a neighbor’s house in Panchabati area of Bhairab Port town of Kishoreganj, eight hours after he went missing.
The deceased child, Sahal(3) , son of Babul Mia, an expatriate from Panchabati area in Bhairab Port town.
In this incident, the police arrested the tenant’s neighbor Hasan (40) and brought him to the police station. His home is in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria district.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bhairab model Police Station , Md.Shaheen confirmed the incident and said that after the child Sahal went missing on Monday noon , his mother filed a General Diary (GD) with Bhairab police station.
Later, at around 1:30 am, police searched the house of neighbor Hasan and recovered the child’s body from inside the wardrobe. At that time, a white rope was tied around the neck of the body.
Additional SP(Crime&Ops) Al-Amin Hossein said that it is initially believed that the child was strangled to death. However, the detained neighbor Hasan is being interrogated to find out the reason for the murder.
The body was sent to Shaheed Syed Nazrul Islam Medical College Hospital (SSNIMCH) morgue for autopsy.
