Entertainment Report :
Many showbiz stars have supported the students in online and offline quota reform movement. However, actress Tasnia Farin was silent about this movement. The actress finally broke the silence and expressed solidarity with the students’
movement.
She said that she was silent for so long thinking about her safety.
Tasnia Farin wrote on Facebook, “After so many days have passed, it doesn’t matter whether I say something or not. But it seems that I can’t tolerate myself to keep quiet. I was silent thinking about my own safety. I was silent for lack of courage. I could not see the interests of the country more than my own interests. The responsibility for this failure is entirely mine. I think it’s better to remain silent than to give a hard speech.”
Many people from the showbiz arena were present at the central Shaheed Minar of Dhaka, declaring solidarity with the students’ demands on Saturday.
Tasnia Farin regretted not being able to go to Shaheed Minar. She wrote on Facebook, “Today (Saturday) when thousands of people gathered at Shaheed Minar without thinking about their own safety, demanding future security, it is ridiculous to think about your own safety while sitting at home.”
Referring to those who are in this movement as true stars, Tasnia Farin wrote, “You ordinary people who are doing the work of reforming the country so beautifully without any help from anyone are the real celebrities. Selfish people like me have a lot to learn from you. Maybe one day I will have the courage like you, I don’t have to think 10 times when writing something. I deleted it again and again while writing. I hurt you. I apologize. As a citizen of Bangladesh, I want democracy to be re-established. If anyone can, you can.”
