West Bengal’s actress Susmita Chatterjee is making her debut in Dhallywood with Mehedi Hasan Hridoy’s ‘Rakkhosh’.
This news was heard earlier this month.
It was known that she would join the shooting of the second lot of the movie ‘Rakkhosh’ outside the country.
However, surprising everyone, the heroine appeared at the official announcement of ‘Rakkhosh’ at BFDC on Wednesday. She said that the story of ‘Rakkhosh’ brought her to Bangladesh.
Explaining the reason for joining the film ‘Rakkhosh’ at the press conference, Susmita Chatterjee said, “I was fascinated after hearing the story from the director Hridoy.
I joined this film because of the story because the heroine has a lot to do in this story. I will try my best to portray the character on screen.”
Regarding acting in a Dhaka film for the first time, the actress said, “I am very excited, this is the first time I have come to Bangladesh and am acting in a film.
This day is very special for me. I have thanked the creator many times. This is the first time I am going to act in a Bangladeshi film with a good team, this is a great achievement for me.”
Although she finds working in Dhallywood challenging, Susmita wants to overcome that challenge with everyone’s help. She wants to get the love of the Bangladeshi audience.
She said, “When I first started working in cinema, I didn’t know anyone from the Kolkata film industry. I came to the film industry after a lot of hard work through auditions.
Just as that was difficult for me, my first job in this country’s film industry will be challenging too. But after coming here and seeing everyone in the team, I feel like I can overcome the challenge.
They don’t let me feel like I’m from another country for once. I came to get the love of the audience of this country; I hope to get a lot of love.” Susmita wanted to be an actress since childhood.
She was also very good at studies. So, the family wanted her to finish her studies first, then do other work. As per her parents’ wishes, Susmita completed her degree in electronic engineering.
After her studies, she got a job in a big company. But the job was not offered. She walked towards her childhood dream of becoming an actress. Susmita made her Tollywood debut with the movie ‘Prem Tem’ in 2021.
After that, she worked in several movies including ‘Chengiz’ and ‘Manush’. Now, she has made her name in Dhallywood.
Sharing her experience on the silver screen, Susmita said, “There is a lot of difference between the Susmita of the movie ‘Prem Tem’ and the Susmita of ‘Rakkhosh’. It has been four years since the movie ‘Prem Tem’.
During this time, a lot of maturity has come to my work and personality. I hope everyone can understand that on screen.”
Siam Ahmed is opposite Susmita in movie ‘Rakkhosh’. Bapparaj, Aliraj and others are also acting in it.
